VI SANTA CECILIA INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL

The VI International Festival Sta. Cecília presents this year an expanded edition structured around a cycle of ten concerts. From March 1 to May 10, 2026, every Sunday at 4:00 PM, the festival will take place at the emblematic Museu Romântico in the city of Porto.

Dedicated to promoting outstanding emerging pianists from various countries the festival proposes a journey through the piano repertoire, from the formal rigor of the Baroque to the expressiveness of Romanticism, extending into the languages of the 20th century.

Works by Bach, Scarlatti, Haydn, and Beethoven enter into dialogue with the lyricism and poetic depth of Chopin, Schumann, Schubert, and Liszt, while Debussy and Ravel reveal sound worlds of remarkable subtlety and tonal imagination. Modernity and dramatic intensity are fully affirmed in works by Prokofiev, Scriabin, de Falla, and Mompou, offering audiences an experience shaped by contrast, expressive intensity, and cultural diversity.

This cycle thus stands as a celebration of the piano, bringing together tradition and contemporaneity.
